ABOUT MARIANNE
A career across Parliament, law and international cooperation
Dr. Marianne Malak is an Egyptian parliamentarian, lawyer and international-security professional whose public career connects legislative service with foreign relations, human rights and international cooperation. Her academic foundation includes a law degree, a master’s in human rights and a PhD in international law.
She first entered the Egyptian People’s Assembly in 2012 as one of ten appointed members. Widely reported at the time as the chamber’s youngest member, she became the first woman to sit on the platform during an opening session, in accordance with parliamentary procedure.
Following that term, she served on Egypt’s National Council for Human Rights and participated in monitoring and fact-finding work. She later developed an international policy profile through parliamentary diplomacy, regional-security education and professional networks.
